Thames Valley LDWA

Hi everyone. We have been asked to pass on this email from Kathy Tytler to see if any of you can help. Please reply to her directly at the mail below

Can you help Pat Seabrook and Cecilia Csemiczky on their 100 mile walk next weekend?

I worked out a route for Pat and I to do our 100. My training was going well, then bang! I tripped on a tree root between Goring and Whitchurch, falling badly, resulting in a broken arm and a 4-way fracture to my shoulder joint, which was fixed by an operation, but I am still recovering.

This year's 100 is an important one for Pat as she was 80 last year. My friend Cecilia has bravely volunteered to walk with her, but she has not walked 100 miles before. I am sure that with Pat's experience and Cecilia's determination they will complete, but it would be good if other walkers could do a bit with them, especially near the end. As Pat will admit, she is now slow.

They are starting from Reading at 4am Saturday 29th May to maximise the use of daylight. I have worked out the route - 4x 25 mile out and back sections using The Ridgeway and The Thames Path centred on Goring. Due to my injury I am unable to walk with them and can only offer static support.

I'm sure they would appreciate walking companions, especially during Sat night and on Sunday, during the latter stages.

If you can help in any way please e-mail me and I will let you know estimated timings on the route

Thank you
