General Notes
Today's route picks up where we left off yesterday, walking through the site of mediaeval Wolverton to Stony Stratford, with its long High Street and many coaching inns. Yes, there is a seven mile option along Watling Street, which is the route they would have taken in 1290 but, having walked this for research purposes, I cannot recommend it. Therefore I will be taking you on a perambulation around the boundary of Milton Keynes, calling in at a couple of villages and finishing at Bletchley railway station, or Captain Ridley's Shooting Party (Wetherspoons, named after the MI6 scouts who chose Bletchley Park as the wartime home for the Government Code and Cypher School). Please bring lunch and plenty of water plus a headtorch, as sunset is at 4.11pm today.
