The Viking Way is a 149 mile long walking route through the great county of LIncolnshire. The route opened in 1976 and its name recognises the influence of the Norse invaders on the east of Britain. The route is clearly marked with the recognisable Viking helmet on the yellow disc. 2026 marks its 50th anniversary. To mark this anniversary Lincolnshire County Council are offering badges for those walking 50 miles, 100 miles or the full route between July 2026 and September 2027. All details of the walk and the badges can be found on the excellent Visit Lincolnshire website: Viking Way - Visit Lincolnshire.
