In 2012, TrailZilla teamed up with Country Walking Magazine to create a brand-new weekend White to Dark Long Distance Path - Peak District National Park walk, celebrating the very best of the Peak District. Celebrating the 25th birthday of Britain's best-selling walking magazine, and perfect for a Bank Holiday, the White to Dark Way is a three-day walk from the White Peak to the Dark Peak. It aims to be the first major walking trail dedicated to linking the Peak District's two 'halves', across terrain ranging from meadows, woods and farmland to wild moorland and gritstone edges, going from Bakewell to Hope. The route includes Monsal Head, Cressbrook Dale, Litton, Eyam, Stanage Edge and Win Hill. The website below provides maps and a route description. A registration is required for new users.

The path and footbridge originally provided a through route from Monsaldale to Millersdale before the opening of the Monsal Dale tunnels. The Peak District National Park Authority are seeking funding for a replacement bridge,
