The Sussex Hospices Trail is a long circular route around East and West Sussex covering some 200 miles. The walk visits Barnham, Arundel, Goring, Shoreham, Brighton, Southease, Alfriston, Hampden Park, Normans Bay, Hastings, Crowhurst, Battle, Robertsbridge, Etchingham, Burwash Common, Heathfield, Uckfield, North Chailey, Haywards Heath, Balcombe, Horsham, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Amberley and Halnaker before returning to Chichester. It is divided into 26 parts, with a public transport point at the start and end of each part, for walkers to complete as little or as much they choose and in any time frame that they wish.

The trail has been created by Friends of Sussex Hospices and dedicated to raising awareness of hospice care, as a venue for fundraising activities and as a permanent route for walkers. A detailed, turn by turn guide and map for each walk can be found either as a free download on the iFootpath website or on the low-cost iFootpath app linked from the route's website listed below. Both website and app include updated links about accommodation, photographs, points of interest and background details of sites along the way. The trail will be waymarked by mid-2017 at the point nearest to each hospice and also at key points throughout with signs bearing the trail’s distinctive logo.

The project was devised and developed by Sue Korman in partnership with digital walk creation business iFootpath. Volunteers from across Sussex helped to create the walks. The publication costs have been funded by individual sponsors, all of whom have personal connections with a part of the route or with their local hospice.
