White named disc with bridge in greenDowns Link

Surrey, W Sussex

58 km / 36 miles
A bridleway link between the two Downs National Trails and extension southwards to Shoreham-by-Sea. From St Marthas Hill on the North Downs Way the Link is over wooded heath and farmland to meet and follow the trackbed of the former Horsham and Guildford direct railway through Cranleigh and the former Shoreham to Itchingfield Junction line through Partridge Green and Bramber, crossing farmland to meet the South Downs Way, and then on to Shoreham-by-Sea.

Update September 2020 - A new section of the Downs Link has been opened along a previously disused section on the old Guildford Railway Line behind Christ's Hospital station, near Horsham. The GPX files have been amended to reflect this and it means that anyone using this route between Mill Lane and Christ's Hospital Station will now be able to do so safely off-road. Walkers and riders will now be able to avoid a stretch of around 2km of road walking.
