We havent seen you for a while on TV LDWA events but we want to let you know that this is the 50th year of Thames LDWA and we have arranged a number of events to suit everybody. To celebrate our past history we very much hope to see you on one of these. The first event is next Sunday when we retrace the first ever walk from Maidenhead and then have cakes and bubbly afterwards, just turn up at the time notified, There are events for all ranges of fitness (ranging down to 6 mls). The one event we would like to see you the most at is the Sat 10 October party (preceded by the optional 6 mile walk mentioned) for which we would ask you register (details below). The Committee
15 mile walk that approximately retraces the inaugural route taken by Bob Ford & John Cassells in 1976. Followed by cake and bubbly in Braywick Leisure Centre. You can of course attend for the cake only.
15 mile walk to see Bluebells.
20 mile walk to see Bluebells.
A night time walk to hopefully see a Blue Moon.
A 50K Social walk, Note Earlier 8:00am start with minimum 3mph pace to get back in daylight.
A Treasure Hunt followed by afternoon tea.
SATURDAY WALK. There will be, two or three 6 mile loops to finish just before 16:00 . 18 mile walk starts at 09:00, 12 mile walkers joining at Knoll Hill at 11.15 . A slow paced independent walk of 6 mls on the final loop will commence at the same location at 13.00.
Followed by 50th anniversary party in v.h at 16:00, with curry (incl veggie option), games & guest speaker. PRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED ASAP but no later than 30th Sept stating your walk (or no walk) preference.
