Reminder: LDWA London Walks

It has been lovely to join some of you on walks in the past few months and I want to thank everyone again for offering to lead during this uncertain time. If you do have a walk you would like to lead please drop me an email at least 1-2 weeks in advance  and I will advertise it to the group.

I know the the government guidelines are changing regularly but last week the NEC confirmed the following for walks in England:

Nothing has changed in relation to the rules, delivery plan and risk assessment that were provided by the NEC on 26.08.20. Consequently Local Groups may continue to provide a walks programme as long as it complies with the new rules provided by the LDWA. In summary, group walks where 7-30 people inclusive attend must have a delivery plan/risk assessment completed by the walk leader. With walks where 6 or fewer people attend there is no legal requirement to complete a delivery plan/risk assessment, but we do recommend you do.

As rules are changing regularly, we are only advertising walks 2-3 weeks in advance by the group email, this is to ensure we are always on top of the changing restrictions.

It is entirely up to you whether you are happy to take more than 5 others on a walk and conduct a risk assessment. At the end of the walk if you could send your walk report, risk assessment (depending on size) and register to Gavin he can upload them all to the database.

Currently the walks Jerome leads on a Saturday are fully booked and he has asked that if anyone would like to lead his walk, (either in the opposite direction or 30 mins later) so that we can offer more than one group, he would be happy to pair up and share all the details with you in advance. If you are interested in offering a walk with Jerome please let me know and I will pass you his details.

If you want to register for a walk, please message the leader at the contact phone number/email address given out at the end of the bulk email. Said leader will then give you all the details you need to know. It's no use responding to the bulk email itself - that's sent out by me and I'm as much in the dark as you!
