Saturday 5th September

Camino de Eleanor Part 4 Bletchley to Dunstable

Event Type: Group Walk.

Region: Southern England / London

Distance: 20 miles

Start Time: 9:05

Route: Meet at Bletchley railway station. Train from London Euston at 08:23 arrives in Bletchley at 09:01. Starting in Bletchley, we take a pleasant stroll along the canal and then through lovely English countryside to the pretty village of Woburn, where we stop for lunch (shops and cafés aplenty). Thence to Woburn Abbey, where Queen Eleanor's bier was kept overnight, through the deer park and then along footpaths parallel to the original 1290 route, to reach Dunstable. There, you can either rest at The Gary Cooper (Wetherspoons) or hop on a bus to Luton and onward via train to London.

Notes: This is the fourth section of the Camino de Eleanor, following in the mediaeval footsteps of Eleanor of Castile's funeral procession. Finish in Dunstable. Frequent buses from Church Street take you to Luton Station Interchange (15 mins), from which there are regular trains to St Pancras (Thameslink, 26 mins).
