2. Your hands can save a life.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a basic first aid skill which is straightforward to learn and could in the right circumstances save someone's life. There have been occasions where people have collapsed from heart issues on walks, and knowing what to do could save the day. London Group's Carrie Gaston works for the Resuscitation Council UK and has set up for the group a free training session allowing our members to learn this skill from those in the know at the council. This will be at 5.15 on Tuesday August 25, at the Resuscitation Council's headquarters at 60-62 Margaret Street, London W1W 8TF, and naturally will be followed by a walk. Our Chair has been trained in this skill since 2000 and, although never having had to put it into practice, believes it a highly valuable tool to have should the time ever come. If you would like to take advantage of the chance to learn this core skill please email Carrie at carrie.gstn@gmail.com.
