Several current London LDWA Committee Members  will be ending their three (or five for the Chair and four for the Treasurer) year term of office at the 2027 AGM.
The AGM will be in February 2027 - exact date to be advised in due course.
The posts falling vacant are:
Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
Walks Secretary
Newsletter Editor.
There are usually 2 or 3 Committee meetings a year as well as the AGM.  The Walks Secretary and Newsletter Editor roles require regular input; the other roles require occasional input.
The group needs a Committee of members willing to step forward to fill these roles to enable it to keep functioning and providing the great walks' programme that it does.
If you would like more information about the specifics of each role please ask any Committee member - Gavin, Lonica, Gordon, Jim, Jeff or Keith.
If you are willing to take on any of these roles please also let a Committee member know.
We need you and will be very pleased to hear from you by email to london.secretary@ldwa.org.uk

Midsummer Stone Circle - A Pewsey circular

Event Type: Group Walk.

Region: Southern England / Wiltshire

Distance: 24 miles

Start Time: 9:39

Route: Meet at Pewsey Station (8.35 train from Paddington. 9.02 at Reading if using the Elizabeth line. Allow plenty of time in getting to Paddington or Reading as the next train is 2 hours later). The train both ways could be very full with many seats reserved. This is a joint walk with Wiltshire Group. A very full day with a long & hilly walk in the Pewsey Downs using sections of the White Horse Trail, Wansdyke path, Sarsen Way, Ridgeway, Tan hill & the jewel of the Avebury Stone Circle.  Notes: Picnic stops only. Bring adequate supplies. There will be an extended lunch break in Avebury to allow sufficient time to appreciate the unique stone circle & take lots of selfies! Avebury has toilets shops, cafes, pub; supplies can be topped up here; expect queues everywhere. Moderate pace (very moderate in the hilly sections) If intending to come please notify the walk leader by Text message/WhatsApp, in advance if possible but even on the morning of the walk it is fine.
