The 100 km Social - Day 1 Henley to Cholsey

Event Type: Group Walk. 

Region: Southern England / London
 
Distance: 22.5 miles
 
Start Time: 9:00
 
Route: Meet at Henley Station (08.08 from Paddington or Elizabeth Line at 07.47, change at Twyford). 36kms of delightful Chiltern scenery. River path, some moderate ascents. Finish at Cholsey Station for 17.13 train to Reading and Paddington.
 
Notes:  Bring a picnic, plenty of water and food. Moderate pace. Please let Leader know, ideally via WhatsApp or text, if you wish to come; ideally the day before so he can update you if there are any necessary changes to travel details or the route. This is part 5 in a Western Adventure pilgrimage set of 8 walks which started at Charing Cross with the aim of reaching the World Heritage Site of the Great Stone Circle at Avebury.

Route: Meet at Cholsey station (08.38 train from Paddington). 32km of parks, commons, woodlands, moderate ascents crossing the Berkshire Downs. Finish at Newbury station for 17.21 train to Reading and Paddington.
 
Notes:  Bring a picnic, plenty of water and food. Moderate pace. Please let Leader know, ideally via WhatsApp or text, if you wish to come; ideally the day before so he can update you if there are any necessary changes to travel details or the route. Route: Meet at Newbury Station (08.11 train from Paddington). 32kms of parks, commons, woodlands, river paths moderate ascents crossing the foothills of the Inkpen Ridgeway. Finish at Bedwyn station for 16.55 train to Reading and Paddington
 
Notes: Bring a picnic, plenty of water and food. Moderate pace. Please let Leader know, ideally via WhatsApp or text, if you wish to come; ideally the day before so he can update you if there are any necessary changes to travel details or the route. This is the 7th in a Western Adventure pilgrimage set of 8 walks which started at Charing Cross with the aim of reaching the World Heritage Site of the Great Stone Circle at Avebury.

Tuesday 12th May: Pete Colley led ten walkers 17 miles from Fenchurch Street to Victoria along a route designed by Ron that included 150 alleys. Eight walkers completed the record-equalling challenge.
