1. New members

A warm welcome to new primary member Leonard Fung; and new associate members Madhuri Bolton, Philip Jennings, Monika Thaler, and Yvonne Baber. 

2. 2026 AGM

The AGM covering the 2025 year was held recently and was attended by 18 members, 8 of whom are Committee members. There were 7 apologies. A full overview of the year's activities was given at the meeting showing it has been another successful year.
The London group has 596 primary members and 675 secondary members.  83% receive the newsletter. 
There were 89 walks and 3 walks joint with other groups.  266 people attended at least one walk. There was a social walk every weekend. The average attendance at weekend walks was 17. 
The draft minutes of the meeting can now be found on the London LDWA website. The Committee would welcome attendance by a higher proportion of the membership at the next AGM

Wednesday 18th March 2026 
A Western Adventure Part 4: Maidenhead to Henley

Event Type: Group Walk. 

Region: Southern England / London
 
Distance: 15 miles
 
Start Time: 11:00
 
Route:  Maidenhead (10.18 Elizabeth line from Paddington arrives 10.56). Parks, commons, woodlands, moderate ascents, river paths; there may still be some muddy sections. An indirect route to incorporate some typical delightful Chiltern scenery. Finish at Henley-on-Thames station for 16.30 shuttle train to Twyford and Elizabeth line back to Paddington.
 
Notes: Bring plenty of water and food. Moderate pace. Please let Leader know, ideally via WhatsApp or text, if you wish to come; ideally the day before so he can update you if there are any necessary changes to travel details or the route This is the 4th in a pilgrimage set of 8 walks which started at Charing Cross with the aim of reaching the World Heritage Site of the Great Stone Circle at Avebury.

Route Meet at Haslemere Station. Train departs Waterloo at 07.55, Clapham Junction 08.05. Linchmere, Woolbeding Common, Henley, Bexley Hill, Lurgashall, Serpent Trail.
 
Notes: Bring a picnic lunch.
