Halifax to Littleborough

Gtr Manchester, W Yorkshire

The route soon leaves the urban paths of Halifax and climbs to Albert Promenade with good views back to Halifax and its Wainhouse Tower. On Norland Moor the Calderdale Way is joined as far as Ripponden where the River Ryburn is followed to Ryburn Reservoir. Another climb follows to the trig point on Dog Hill from where moorland paths and rough ground lead to Green Withens Reservoir. The Pennine Way is picked up for a short stretch over Blackstone Edge to the Aiggin Stone from where the route makes the final descent into Littleborough.
