Maidensgrove: At the eastern end of the Common, where Park Lane emerges into the open, between 30mph signs

As the leader himself turns ' ancient' , he takes you on a circuit of the oldest trees of the Chilterns, with a particular emphasis on the oldest living organisms in the area, yew trees,with top billing to those in Ibstone & Britwell Salome churchyards, which may be 1000 yrs old. Several younger species along the route, 2250 ft ascent

General Notes
As there are several short stops, the overall pace will be moderate, & the end of the walk may be around 4.30-5pm
