Other News

Secretary Vacancy

We have had no takers for the Secretary vacancy for 2026 onwards advertised two months ago, though we do now have a potential Treasurer.

To ease the situation, we now suggest splitting the role in two. The minimum would be to have a Meetings Secretary, concerned with hall booking, agenda and minutes of three to four committee meetings and the AGM in a year. The meetings in 2026 are likely all to be in village halls after a walk. We estimate this will involve only circa 20 hours work in a year. Another could take on the other Secretary roles such as external and internal membership communications with a similar time commitment. Please speak to Duncan or any committee member (duncan.tvldwa@gmail.com) if you feel you could help.
