Isn't it great to have a bit of decent weather for a change? Ron's Norfolk day trip featured the sunny seaside at its best, and yours truly took a 15.6 mile stroll in the beauteous countryside around Galleywood with special guests Jill Green and Jim Catchpole, who were enjoying a week of Essex & Herts hospitality with Gill and Rob Struthers. After visiting the stately home of Hylands Park, we took in Writtle Park, Mill Green, Margaretting and Stock before returning chez Struthers for tea, which included some very exceptional cakes.

You can register for a walk up to the day before it takes place, If you cannot make a walk you have registered on, please give the walk leader as much notice as possible so that they can allocate your space to another walker.

 

We are constantly updating the programme so please check the website for details of new walks or any amendments. 

 

If you would like to lead a walk please contact Marie at london.walks@ldwa.org.uk with the details. Shorter mid week and evening walks as well as longer weekend walks are welcome. There are 2 weekends in July that are still free if you have a walk that you can lead.

Believe it or not, this is exactly the same view as the one that used to greet me from my dorm window when I was banged up in the Malory Towers-type boarding school that was Felixstowe College in the late 1960s. I hope I've aged better than Peter's Ice Cream

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
