London LDWA

There's something of  watch-this-space about this week as the walk planned originally for the weekend has been cancelled due to the route being affected by recent weather conditions. Leader Dave Williams is putting together a Saturday alternative. Here's a sneak preview of what to expect...

In the meantime, we have a fantastic fixture on Tuesday with Ron Williamson, king of the Pop-Ups, leading an exploration of the second half of the new route of the Capital Challenge. Scroll down for all the details.

Social activities - vacancies available on Lake District week

Ron Williamson has booked a camping barn in the Lake District  for two weeks in July. The first week is already full but he still has some vacancies for the second week Sunday July 19th- 26th.The barn is a registered Lakeland Barn, the details of which can be found at Causewayfoot.co.uk, which Ron has used regularly over the past 20 years, and by restricting numbers to 8 persons provides good cheap self catering accommodation in an ideal location for exploring northern and central lakeland. The plan is to have an organised walk each day, but equally to encourage all to do their own thing if that is what they prefer. The location can be reached by public transport fairly easily with a bus stop by the farm gate, although Ron is sure that it could be arranged to meet anyone in Keswick town center, just two miles away. The cost including all food will be £150 for the week or £22 per night for a shorter period. If you might be interested, please contact him at ronwilliuamsonuk@yahoo.couk or alternatively on 01702 587128 so that Ron can give you more details. Please note that this will not be an official LDWA event but merely a group of friends gathering together, therefore, you come at your own risk.
