A memorial tree has been planted on the route of London Group's long-standing event, the Founders Challenge, to honour both departed founder  members of the group and those who have given service. The tree has been planted between Pitch Hill and Peaslake, and the grid reference is 085430 (north-east side of a track-junction, about 10 metres in from the track). A plaque, shortly to be put in place, will read:

Saluting departed members of the London Group, Long Distance Walkers Association.
