Lots on offer this week, starting on Thursday with an evening midweek in South-West London linking park and common. That's just a taster for the Bank Holiday weekend when you can pack in three days of walks if you fancy it - Sussex on Saturday, then Sunday and Monday devoted to finessing a new route for the Capital Challenge. Scroll down for all the details.

Last call for the winter walks programme

A gentle nudge from Marie, Walks Secretary, to let her know by tomorrow, 20th August, if you can lead a walk next year. There are weekend slots still available, and all you need to give are the basic details for Strider. Any amendments can be made closer to the date.  london.walks@ldwa.org.uk or text Marie on 07787 532793

General Notes
The Capital Challenge Walk has run successfully for 3 years. However the committee has decided to develop two completely new routes. The first route was tested in two stages in July and corrections duly applied including a slight re-route over Clapham Common to avoid a blind crossing. If you wish to help out testing the second route and enjoy a relaxing walk as well do join in. Susanne Waldschmidt will be supervising the walks so no-one goes astray. Refreshments Park Cafés. If anyone would like to check distances I will be eternally grateful. Assistance Dogs only please
