London LDWA

Before we get on to this week's positive feast of walks (well, just the two but both terrifically tempting), the big news comes to us via Dave. According to the Guardian, a National Wetherspoons Museum will be opening in Wolverhampton this coming year to coincide with the pub chain's 40th anniversary. You may think they've obviously got plenty of spare change to do this thanks to the frequent patronage of London Group members, but I couldn't possibly comment. Anyway, here's the link if you want to read all about it:

Entirely coincidentally, of course, our pop-up walk on Friday - to mark the shortest day of the year - features breakfast, a coffee stop, Christmas lunch and a valedictory drink at hostelries all associated with the letter W. How better to follow that up on Saturday with a circular based on Petts Wood and the London Loop, finishing with a celebratory drink at... you get the picture. Or as Albert Camus nearly put it: 'In the depth of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer, or at least several pints of Brewdog Punk ipa.'
