Heaven and earth and Up The Arsenal - this week's walking with London LDWA
London LDWA
Not that one believes absolutely everything one reads in the papers, but the Sunday Times assures us the weather forecast for the South-East indicates it's going to be warm and dry by Wednesday - good news for everyone joining Aysen's midweek walk. Its name is derived from a Sir Walter Raleigh quote: 'There are two things scarce matched in the universe, the sun in heaven and the Thames on earth.' It's etched into the wall running along the south bank of the Thames, which is where this lovely walk starts. Fingers crossed that the weather holds till Saturday for our foray from Plumstead via the Green Chain Walk and the Capital Ring to North London, where Arsenal fans can gaze on the statue of Thierry Henry outside the Emirates Stadium. For those who like to end their expeditions with a Wetherspoon's, one is available at the finish of both walks. Scroll down for full details.
