South London history and Hurst Green in the heatwave - this week's walking with London LDWA
London LDWA
Don't put the sunscreen away yet - this glorious heatwave is scheduled to last all week, and we've got just the walks for you to make the most of it. On Wednesday evening, Jerome leads a historical mystery tour south of the river, starting at Raynes Park and finishing one stop down the line at New Malden. Peter's 18-mile hike on Saturday is Surrey-based and its name, Hurst Green to East Grinstead, is self-explanatory. Scroll down to find out the details of both.
And now for something slightly different...
On Thursday 12th July London LDWA members Ali Pretty and Colin Saunders will be leading a joint 5 or 11-mile walk at the Thurrock 100 Recipes 2018, with the theme of Pub Grub It starts at a café in Benfleet at 10.30 with the promise of Tottenham Cake and culminates with lunch at the Oysterfleet Hotel on Canvey Island. It's free, and you can book on www.thurrock100.com/2018-walks .
