Hello everyone!
Well, now that Wimbledon is behind us, we can look forward to the new football season (which always seems to come around depressingly quickly) and falling strawberry prices to ease our transition into the high summer holiday season.
But even more than that, London LDWA, as ever with an eye to the zeitgeist, can this week offer the prospect of not just one but two Wetherspoon visitations to help celebrate the season. So - read on to find out more about these terrific tipple treat trips!
One day all this could be yours...
...but only if you complete Thursday's or Saturday's walk!
This week's first walk is on Thursday, when Dave will be visiting a steam engine called Robert and a park called Victoria in the course of his seven-mile evening excursion. If you'd like to make your acquaintance with Bob and Vicky, AND - in what Dave describes as the undoubted highlight of the walk - pick up a Wetherspoons curry at the end, just be at Stratford Station at 18.15 on Thursday, and take it from there.
And our second walk this week makes more than just a passing nod to the football and beer theme as Julie leads us on a 20 mile Arsenal-themed walk from Plumstead to the Emirates stadium on Saturday. Although for reasons that aren't entirely clear, Julie describes her walk as "Boring, Boring", I am sure it will be anything but, so if you'd like to join her, be at Plumstead station for 10.00 on Saturday morning. Note that the start point for the walk has changed slightly compared to the "Strider" notification and it is being run jointly with Kent Group.
