London LDWA

Hello everyone!

Lots going on this week including news of a special celebratory Pop Up walk!

But first - just to report back that the "Founders'" event last Saturday was a tremendous success.   We had 183 registered entrants - which was something of a record for recent years.   The results of the event are on-line now and can be viewed by clicking here.

Huge thanks to Gordon for doing such a splendid job organising the event, and to all the Marshals who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event run like a well-oiled machine on the day.   We're all looking forward to 2017 already!

And now onto important news about this week's walks!

First of all, on Thursday, Dave and Keith are organising a special "pop up" walk in honour of one of our most stalwart members, Sue Cannell, who is celebrating a special birthday this week.   She's been with London LDWA from the early days, as a leader, marshal, and regular attendee on our social walks.   If you'd like to join in this really special celebration walk, just make your way to Westminster tube station ticket barriers for 6pm on Thursday.   Remarkably, the walk finishes in a nearby Wetherspoons.   Actually, on second thoughts, given that Dave's on the organising committee, perhaps it's not too remarkable at all..

And then moving on to later in the week...

Spurs Way

The River Lea Navigation - one of the many interesting sights you'll spot on Sunday's Spurs Way walk

Moving on to the weekend, on Sunday, Julie is leading us on a trail through Tottenham, spotting features along the way to do with Tottenham Hotspur.  The walk visits training grounds new and old, so even if you're not a Spurs fan at the moment, you are sure to be one by the end.   If you'd like to go, just aim to meet Julie at Tottenham Hale station at 9am on Sunday morning.

Well, that will do for now!

Have a great week

All the best

Adam
