London LDWA

Hello everyone!

Well now that the summer holidays are fully upon us, if you're not heading off to sunnier climes for the next few weeks, what better time could there be than now to become tourists in our own backyards?

And this week, we've got two particularly interesting walks in store, which could almost have been designed to help us all learn a bit more about the delights that lie on our very own doorsteps!

So, first on the list, on Thursday evening, Dave will be leading an exploration of the Greenwich to Tower Hill environs, promising not just the Cutty Sark, but "More"! (and in Dave's case, I think we can probably hazard a guess as to what "more" might be - suffice to say that "W***********s" could be a clue).   But he also seems to be promising a smattering of "culture" along the way, so this is definitely an outing not to be missed.   If you'd like to find out what this is all about, make your way to Cutty Sark DLR for 18:15 on Thursday evening, and join your cultural tour guide there.

And then what better complement to the culture of Greenwich could there be than an exploration of some of London's most distinctive natural history?   Yes, here at London LDWA we've got it all, and so on Sunday, Susanne will be taking us on the first of two walks this summer featuring a strong arboreal theme.   And who better than a ‘Woodsmith’ to help you sort out the trees from the wood?  (you might need to think about this one - the clue is in the name..).   So if you'd like to join Susanne and discover some of London’s finest ‘celebatrees’ (thanks for that one, Susanne!) then just be at Putney Bridge station (District Line) for 09.30 on Sunday morning.

Well that's all for now, as they say, so do enjoy your week and be sure to study the details of this week's walks, which are, as usual, attached below:

All the best

Adam
