London LDWA

Hello everyone!

Well this week, sadly, we don't have any eclipses to enjoy, but instead we can all look back on an excellent "Founders'" challenge hike last Saturday.

The results are online now, and you can access them by clicking here.
There is also short report and some photos, which you can have a look at by clicking here.

The weather was fine, with a misty start soon leading to warm sunshine.   The dry weather over the last couple of weeks meant that the paths were generally in good condition, contributing to an extremely enjoyable event.

Sincere thanks to Gordon Parker and Adam Pode for organising it, and the many marshals and other volunteers who worked hard to make it a success.

The photo below gives a glimpse of the views along the way, before the mist burned off.

Turning to matters at hand..

Now that we're well into Autumn, our walks programme assumes a slightly more relaxed rhythm, which means that we won't be running midweek walks every week whilst the darker evenings prevail.   But there are still quite a few over the winter months - so check the programme carefully - but this time we've got to wait till the weekend for our next outing.

So this week, Rob is organising an exploration of some of London's finest parks.   His "London Parks Way" - part 1, kicks off at 9 am at Kingston station, on Saturday.   With the trees just beginning to change colour, this promises to be a fine outing, so do make an effort to join!

And - I haven't forgotten the photo competition - please just send any photos you'd like to enter to:
london.walks@ldwa.org.uk

Anyway, that's all for now.   The details of Rob's walk are at the bottom of this email.

Cheers!

Adam
