Update on Saturday's LDWA London walk

Dear all

Feeling bemused about leaving from Paddington for Saturday's walk??   Fear not!

Trouble at Paddington..

It seems as if I may have been a bit premature in declaring the end of transport strikes in my email last Monday.

I hadn't spotted that First Great Western are also proposing to strike over the weekend.

I just wanted to reassure you, though, that despite leaving from Paddington station, trains to the start of Jerome's walk on Saturday at Maidenhead are expected to run normally, so the walk will go ahead as planned.

You might want to check the First Great Western website before you set off, to get the latest position (e.g. https://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/about-us/media-centre/2015/august/rmt-planned-action), but as far as I can tell, trains on the Maidenhead line are not affected by the strike (though they may be a bit busier than normal)

Here's hoping for good weather

Enjoy the walk
