Hello everyone
This week, in a bit of a departure from the norm, we are offering not one, not two, but three walks for your enjoyment - one of which is a full-day midweek excursion, for anyone lucky enough not to be at work this week.
First on the list, this Tuesday, Charles is leading a 16-miler from East Finchley - somewhere a little different for LDWA. If you'd like to join this midweek outing, be at East Finchley tube station at 09:30. It will be interesting to see how this longer midweek hike goes - if it's a success, we could consider doing more of them in the future.
Then on Thursday, Rob is taking a 7 mile evening hike from Boston Manor to Hammersmith, surprisingly enough finishing up at a Wetherspooons for some sociable refreshment at the end. To join this inviting outing, meet at Boston Manor station at 6pm.
Then, to complete the hat-trick, on Saturday, Peter is setting out on a linear walk from Petersfield to Rowlands Castle. If you'd like to join him on this particularly beautiful Hampshire outing, meet at Petersfield station at 10.11 am on Saturday.
Well that's all for now - but just in case you are beginning to cast your minds further afield, I took the photo below at sunrise last Wednesday from the summit of Mt Fuji, in Japan. Japan is a fantastic destination for hiking - unexpectedly beautiful, with vast areas of mountainous upland, almost completely unspolied despite the huge population. A real surprise, and if you're ever fortunate enough to have the chance of visiting, I'd definitely take it.

East Finchey tube (High Barnet branch of Northern line) Walk the Dollis Valley to Moat Mount and return partially by a different route. Almost entirely off road. Coffee stop Mill Hill. Return tube Woodhouse Road at 13 miles or back to East Finchley 16 miles

Meet Petersfield Stn Waterloo 08.45; Clapham Junction 08.52. A linear walk over Butser Hill and Queen Elizabeth Country Park with lunch probably at Chalton and possibly a visit to St Hubert’s church at Idsworth in the afternoon
