Forthcoming Walks

Tuesday 30th September 2025

London Bridge to Paddington

Event Type: Group Walk.

Region: Southern England / London

Distance: 11 miles

Start Time: 11:00

Route: meet outside the Sun Wharf Wetherspoon pub on Tooley Street (by London Bridge Station); the leaders (Pete & Dave) will be inside from 10.30am, if not earlier. A not so direct route via South London’s green spaces, Chelsea & Hyde Park. Lunch at Vauxhall Riverside. Slowish pace, aiming to finish outside the Sir Alexander Fleming at Paddington Basin around 5pm.

Notes: to coincide with the Grand Openings of the Sun Wharf at London Bridge & the SIr Alexander Fleming at Paddington Basin, currently scheduled for 30 September, Dave & I are proposing to lead a walk between the two. The date might move if Wetherspoons move theirs. This walk will be restricted to 15 participants; please email Pete in advance as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Two Tons on the Grand Union

Event Type: Group Walk.

Region: Southern England / London

Distance: 20 miles

Start Time: 9:15

Route: Wolverton Station (train departs London Euston 08.23). Following the Grand Union Canal northwards from Wolverton to Northampton station.

General notes: buy a return ticket to Northampton on the day.  As this was a walk the leader was planning to do on his own this day, so as to extend the part of the canal he has already walked, he has opened it up to the group as there was no other London Group walk on that weekend - so note that it has not been recceed. As such please bring sufficient food and drink for the day just in case there is nowhere to get provisions en route.
