Thursday's walk cancelled due to tube strike

Walk originally planned for Thursday 11th September (Capital Challenge recce) has been cancelled due to possible tube strike. It has been rescheduled for Thursday 25th September.

Kelvedon to Wakes Colne part of 30th London LDWA celebration

Route: Meet at Kelvedon station (train departs Liverpool Street 08.00, Stratford 08.09). Buy a return ticket to Chappel & Wakes Colne station via Coggeshall, Stisted and Markshall.
 
Notes: The first weekend walk done by London group was between Kelvedon and Chappel and Wakes Colne stations, so for our 30th anniversary we shall repeat such a walk, although not on the same route. Please bring sufficient food and drink as there is nowhere to get anything on route. Optional opportunity to go to the Chappel Beer Festival at the end (booking in advance required).

1. Thursday 4th September: Andrew led seven walkers on a 13.5 mile recce of the first half of next year's Capital Challenge from Waterloo to Battersea Power Station.

2. Saturday 6th September: 55 LDWA members, in three separate groups, undertook walks of approximately 10 miles, 20 miles and 30 miles, all finishing at the Penderel's Oak on High Holborn, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the LDWA London Group constitution.  Gavin led 16 on a 30.2 miler from Coulsdon South; Lonica led 23 on 19.2 miler walk from Tottenham Hale; and Jeff led 13 on a 10.5 miler from Highgate station.
