2: Members' achievements

 Andrew Disley: Summer Spine 2025: 15th to 21st June 

The Summer Spine is a 268 mile race, with about 36,000 feet of ascent starting in Edale in Derbyshire, following the Pennine Way, and  finishing over the Scottish border in Kirk Yetholm.  It starts at 08:00 on the Sunday and you have until 20:00 on the following Saturday to complete (six and half days later). London member Andrew Disley completed it in 149 hours, ten minutes and thirty seconds - within seven hours of the cut-off. He was 85th out of 102 starters. Well done Andrew!

Capital Ring - South West - Crystal Palace to Boston Manor

Event Type: Group Walk.

Start Time:  9:00
 
Route: Meet at Crystal Palace railway station. First half is fairly urban with green stretches through Norwood Grove, Streatham, Tooting Bec & Wandsworth Commons.  The second half goes over Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park, finishing via the Thames, Syon House & the Brent River. Loads of bail-out options. Finish at Boston Manor Underground Station (Piccadilly Line).
 
Notes: Bring something to eat & drink.

Last week's walk

Saturday 12th July: Peter Lockyer led 8 members on a 9 mile walk from Chorleywood: shortened due to forecast heat and lack of water.
