Well what a scorcher!   I hope you all managed to get out and about and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine this weekend.   Long may it last!

Before getting into the details of this week's walks, I just wanted to let you know that this years's LDWA London annual "Founders'" challenge hike is now OPEN for entries.

The hike this year is on Saturday 3 October, from Peaslake in Surrey, and there are 26 mile and 16 mile walk options.

And don't worry if you've never done one before - click here to see a recent presentation by our Secretary, Douglas Robinson, on how to go about getting ready for a challenge hike.

This year's Founders' organiser is Adam Pode, who can be contacted on founderschallenge@ldwa.org.uk

Turning to the week's activities, there is lots to look forward to.

First of all, on Wednesday, Gail and John are leading a 9 mile West London wander, from Hampton Court to Kingston.   Be at Hampden Court station at 6:15pm if you'd like to join in.

Then on Saturday, Peter is leading a 20 miler, from Knockholt to Slade Green.   Note that the start point has been changed slightly compared to the info. in "Strider", to reduce the travel costs.   Be at Knockholt station at 10.18 on Saturday morning if you'd like to go.
