Dear all
Now that summer is nearly upon us, we've got a couple of interesting walks laid on to make the best of the long days and (hopefully) better weather.
First up, on Wednesday evening, Andy is leading a brisk-paced exploration of the Wandle river - one of the tributaries of the Thames. Some of you have already spotted that Andy is considering an additional start point for this walk, for those with a little more time who fancy a longer walk. If you want to take the longer option, please contact Andy direct using the details in "Strider" (Phone or text 07948 361177; email andyrexdavies@gmail.com) by 2pm on Tuesday. The start points and times for both walks are in "Strider" or on our website, and are reproduced below.
Second, looking forward to next weekend already, on Sunday Steven is leading a "two loops" walk around Canvey Island and some of Essex' interesting sights. Meet at the back of Benfleet station at 9 am if you'd like to join in.

From Benfleet Stn (meet at the back of the stn, as walk will head towards School Lane c.p.). Benfleet Downs & Hadleigh Castle. We then head S crossing the rlwy, walk along Benfleet Creek back to Benfleet (first loop). Continue across to Canvey Island and along the N part of Canvey Island and clockwise walk around the island back to Benfleet. Morning stop Benfleet Creek (5.2ml). Lunch Sea front cafe (10.5 miles). Afternoon stop Lobster Smack Pub Hole Haven (13.7ml) |
