Up on the Downs

Distance: 16 miles
Start Time: 9:15
Route: Hassocks station (train departs London Victoria 08.16, Clapham Junction 08.23, East Croydon 08.34). If coming via London Bridge train departs 08.05). Buy return ticket to Brighton. Via Jack and Jill, Ditchling Beacon, Stanmer, Wild Park and Brighton Racecourse to finish at Brighton station. We'll be crossing the South Downs so expect some ascent and descent to blow away those new year cobwebs!
Notes: Break point at Moulsecoomb station (11.5 miles). Lunch break at Stanmer where there may be the opportunity to buy food/drink, but enough provisions for the day is recommended, as is a torch although we should get to Brighton before it gets dark. Expect some mud on the route.
