Wednesday 19th February: we have booked the upstairs private room at The Chapel Market Tavern, 58 Penton St, London N1 9PZ. 

It's a short walk along Chapel Market from Angel tube station. We invite members to arrive from 6.30 for a 7 p.m. start. Drinks may be purchased from the bar downstairs and brought up to the meeting room.

 

If a member wishes to submit a motion to the meeting, please send it to london@ldwa.org.uk for the attention of Lonica Vanclay and Gordon Parker (joint Secretaries) before midnight on Sunday 5th January. Please include the names of the Proposer and Seconder, who must be Primary Members of the London Group.

 

Also at the AGM, the posts of Chair and Webmaster fall vacant, the current holders of these posts having completed their constitutional time in office. As a result we need volunteers to replace them. If you think you'd be able to contribute in either of these roles we'd be delighted to hear from you. If you want to know what the jobs of each entail, please feel free to contact our current chair Gavin Fuller, or speak to him on a social walk - he has held both of the posts in his time on the committee so can tell you more about both of them. Nominations for these posts should be sent to the Joint Secretaries before midnight on Sunday 5th January. A nomination shall include the names of the proposer and seconder who must also be primary members of the group and the nominee’s agreement to stand.

 

An agenda, minutes of the 2024 AGM and other documentation including details of any motions will be circulated to members during the week ending 24th January.

 

 

Our member Colin Saunders has published his latest book, an 11.4 mile stroll along the Salmons Brook Trail – ideal to work up an appetite for breakfast! It crosses the London Borough of Enfield from Hadley Wood Station via Grange Park and Edmonton to Meridian Water Station, where it links with the Pymmes Brook Trail for another 3 miles to Tottenham Hale on the Lea Valley Walk – then the world’s your lobster!  Most of the first half is in the beautiful landscape of Enfield Chase and the meadows of Vicarage Farm, then pleasant residential streets with open spaces along the way.
