Surrey Group walk Virtual Ben Nevis Marathon

TRAIN USERS BEWARE: Holmwood is a small isolated country village; the last train will have gone (18:30) before this walk finishes, & it may be difficult to get an uber or taxi. Please email Walk Leader before November 1st to ask to come on the walk (and help ensure enough lifts are available). Provide: your name, LDWA number, whether you would come by car or train and - if by car - whether you could afterwards give lift(s) to Dorking Main railway station to any who come by train.
Notes: Hilly (c 4600ft ascent), as climbing Ben Nevis (4413ft) from sea level & back takes 4460ft & 15ml. Mostly moderate pace (3MPH+) with a few steep ascents & descents that will be taken slowly & surely. Bring torch as sunset is at 16:30, & even at 3MPH after stops the walk will probably end after 19:00. Bring picnic snacks, lunch & fluid as we won't pass open shops or pubs.
