Forthcoming Walks

Thursday 15th August 2024:
London LDWA 30th anniversary celebration of the first walk.

Event type: group walk

Region: Southern England

Distance: 6 miles

Start Time: 18:00

Route: Meet outside Tower Hill underground station.   A circular route

Notes:

The first London group walk was on Wed Aug 17, led by Steve Clarke. It consisted of meeting in the Dickens Inn for a stroll through Wapping calling at 2 riverside pubs.  This walk is an adaptation of that first walk.  We will walk past the Dickens Inn and the Wapping riverside pubs rather than frequent them.

If you would like to start the celebrations before the walk, meet at the Liberty Bounds Wetherspoons pub from 5pm.  Please bring your own drink and a small amount of finger snack food (eg cake, crisps, grapes) to share at the celebratory picnic stop circa halfway round.   A further chance to celebrate some more at the Liberty Bounds after the walk.

Then it is back over Holmbury and Leith Hills to Dorking putting the group in grave danger of the leader chuntering on about his forebears
