Dear all
I expect you're all excited about the forthcoming solar eclipse this Friday morning and given that the next one isn't until 2026, it will definitely be worth sticking your head out of the office window at around 9:30 to check it out (or at least to see whether it's still raining..)
As if that wasn't enough, this Sunday, Steve is leading an interesting Hertfordshire hike around Welwyn. It's one of our less-frequently visited destinations, I think, so definitely well worth giving it a go. Just be at Welwyn Garden City station at 08:53 on Sunday - but note there is a possibility of wet feet midway. Steve promises to bring towels!
All the details are at the bottom of this note.
By the way, when I was doing my shopping last weekend, I couldn't help spotting the headline below, screaming from the newspaper racks. Just confirms what we all knew, of course (the walking bit, not the betting bit).
Also, I'm not proposing another caption competition but if I was, my contribution to what Mr Clarkson is saying would be "So now I've got all this new spare time, how do I join the London LDWA?"
Happy astronomy!
Adam
