Meet at Tottenham Court Road station (Exit 4 Charing Cross Rd)

This second knee-friendly short walk visits many old friends as well as some more recent acquaintances. Expect a slow pace with many stops at points of interest & a visit to some free attractions. Finish at Fenchurch Street station around 17:00

Basingstoke Canal West

Set off from Farnborough (Main) Station, taking in Farnborough North (if coming from Reading/Guildford) a few minutes walk away, so possible to set off from either. Finish at Hook Station, both on the Waterloo to Basingstoke route. Trains from both Waterloo & Basingstoke arrive c08:45. If driving can use Public/Raven Hotel c.p (free on Sat.) next to Hook BR & catch 8:30 to Farnborough Main for start

Route is mostly along the Basingstoke Canal. Two miles to the Basingstoke Canal via Farnborough North Station (if coming from Reading/Guildford) then 20 miles along its western end from near Frimley Aquaduct (in Surrey) to Odiham Castle & the Greywell Tunnel. General Notes
Originally scheduled for 29 July, postponed due to train strike. Canal walk, so flat & relatively easy walking. Morning stop about 6 miles at Ash Lock. At c13 miles picnic next to Fox & Hounds PH in Fleet. This is a joint walk with the Surrey group
