2) Founders 2023 – REQUEST FOR MARSHALL’S - SATURDAY 21 October 2023 The Founders Challenge Walk is taking place on Saturday 21 October this year, entries for the event have been open since 1st June. We need volunteers for the HQ and the 3 checkpoints. In addition to our loyal, repeat marshals we need more people to ensure the event goes well. The HQ is key as it is the start and finish point and we serve meals to the returning walks. Although the day is form 07.00 to 19.00 volunteers are welcome to do shifts. For further information please email: chris.founders.challenge@gmail.com. Information which is helpful to share to Chris is: mobile, available times, are you travelling by car, are you pacer trained, are you a first aider and what you would like to do on the day.

PLEASE NOTE BELOW - as a group we are reliant on members to volunteer to contribute to help the group run smoothly.  Currently the newsletter is due to stop after next weeks edition so if anyone feels they could become the  new editor please do contact me.

Recent LDWA London Walks

The first set of photos are from Gavin's 20 mile circular from Reading.  Perhaps the trackside fire on the way was warning of the furnace like temperatures on the day.

Out and About

Ali is continuing her journey along the Alpe-Adria trail which takes her on paths leading from the Juliana Alps to the Adriatic Sea. She mentioned that the path crosses from Slovenia to Italy and the border becomes unimportant.  Perhaps something for our current politicians to reflect upon.
