NOTICES 

1) New Members: Welcome to  the following new Primary Members: Jogita Leja and Neel Mistry.  We also welcome the following new Associate members: Anika Ali, Martin Claydon and  Anne Claydon.  Associate members please do share any photos from the walks you do in your local area either on the London group Facebook page or direct to me for our Out and About section of the newsletter.

2) Founders 2023 – REQUEST FOR MARSHALL’S - SATURDAY 21 October 2023 The Founders Challenge Walk is taking place on Saturday 21 October this year, entries for the event have been open since 1st June. We need volunteers for the HQ and the 3 checkpoints. In addition to our loyal, repeat marshals we need more people to ensure the event goes well. The HQ is key as it is the start and finish point and we serve meals to the returning walks. Although the day is form 07.00 to 19.00 volunteers are welcome to do shifts. For further information please email: chris.founders.challenge@gmail.com. Information which is helpful to share to Chris is: mobile, available times, are you travelling by car, are you pacer trained, are you a first aider and what you would like to do on the day.

Meet at Hampton Court Station

A pleasant amble to include great views of Hampton Court and the River Thames at the start, leading to Bushy Park. Here we visit the Woodland Gardens, Water Gardens and the Longford River. Using the London Loop we walk to Crane Park (visiting the Shot Tower) and follow the River Crane to the Crane Nature Park and finally a path to Twickenham Station

Not withstanding my comment below, there were several amazing homes spotted on the Viking Way between Margate and Ramsgate.  This one was in North Foreland

Out and About 

Thanks to Ali for sharing this delightful landscape from the ever popular Auvergne region of France.   It definitely beat my alternative from the Viking Way in Kent.
