Meet at Putney Bridge station (District Line)

The first of two short Saturday strolls suitable for all, especially those who cannot commit to a full day or 20 miles. A chance to encourage friends & family to join an LDWA walk.
Lucy is so pleased that we found her box that she has invited us to return & complete her walk. A journey of discovery with many points of interest & variety which to fully appreciate needs to be taken at a relaxed pace. Finish at Wimbledon station.

General Notes
Refreshment stop on route & an alfresco lunch stop weather permitting. Expect an early finish which could be as late as 16:00 but no hurry no worry, still time to go out clubbing in the evening or perhaps watch the football. The David Bowie Walk - Is There Life on Mars?

This walk celebrates the 50th anniversary of the release of David Bowies best song, Life on Mars? We will follow Bowies life from 8 years old through to 1972 when he became the biggest rock star in the world. During the walk we will visit three locations where he lived, his school, the Arts Lab where he performed weekly, where he organised and performed at his first music festival, and where he was inspired to write Life on Mars? There will also be plenty of opportunity to listen to the walk leader waffle on about things relating to David Bowie. Finish around 20.45 at either Beckenham Junction or Clock House station
