3) Message from Steve Radley, your new representative working on new routes across London.

One of the groups I’m working with is the Ramblers.  Their Des Garrahan, has offered to lead an early evening walk this summer with our members on a short stretch, probably about  eight miles, of the London Loop.  He wants to go through various suggested developments to this route and he’d like your views. We'll let you know once we have a date fixed. Des is well known as an interesting walk leader. Watch this space for the date and time.

The Ramblers are introducing me to TfL's London Walking Forum. The Forum seeks the views of London walking groups on its plans and consultations. My job is to represent you there and let you know what's happening.  Most of you will have been walking in London a lot longer than me, so I would like to know what you think. I can also update you on what else is going on. For example,  Jeff Golland represents us on London Living Streets.

I’m looking for interested people who wouldn’t mind discussing these issues with me. If you would like to get involved (and I promise you it won't be that much work), please drop me a line on radley200@mail.com. I I look forward to hearing from you.

Looking for Lucy

Thursday 25th May 2023

Event Type
Group Walk

Region / Area
Southern England / London

Local Group
London

Distance
6-8ml.

Start Time
18:00

Route
Meet at Parsons Green station (District Line)

Help Lucy find her lost box on this magical mystery tour. Maybe she left it at home in the cottage, at her friends the Bishops place or in the potting shed. I think that we are going to need more help so meet us at the station at 18:20 if you cannot make the earlier time; we may be late but will not leave the station early.
Could she have left it on the bridge as she watched the race or maybe at a rock beside the river where she stopped for refreshments? Beside the babbling brook seems a likely place or if not, on the common. Maybe she dropped it as she quickened the pace on the long straight or put it down by the pond on the heath. Near the windmill seems a possibility or was it stolen by the Mafia in little Italy? She became tired towards the end & the box was heavy so could she have left it in the maze of alleys or indeed on Wibbas Down near to the station from which she returned home?
