London LDWA

NOTICES

1) New Members Welcome to the following new Primary members: Alison Still and Nicola Stowers.  Welcome too to the following new Associate member: Stephen McGrail. Associate members please do share any walks you do in your local area either on the London group Facebook page or direct to me for our Out and About section of the newsletter.

2) Elephant, Bear and Bull 100 Volunteers Required for this 100. A fun weekend with social walks, as well as supporting the LDWA flagship event. Another 8 marshalls are needed.  Further details are available HERE

3) Correction:  In last weeks edition  I mistakenly described Rod Smith as 76, he is in fact 77 which makes his achievement even more noteworthy.

4) Brecon Beacons. You may have noticed the renaming of the Brecon Beacons to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.  Whilst I am always happy for places to reflect the language of the area I am not entirely sure the not mentioning of the word beacon will help with global warming.  Details here

Forthcoming Walks  (details are also on the website)  here

Recent LDWA London Group Walks

A few photos from Peter's Hertfordshire Amble.   A delightful walk from Bayford via Watton on Stone and Hertford. They saw some beautiful houses out of Jane Austin’s novels. The weather was dry.

Last weekend Gavin and I joined the Sussex LDWA group for a very pleasant 15 mile circular from Ardingly Reservoir along the Cuckmere Pilgrim Path.  The weather was unexpectedly lovely.
