London LDWA

Good evening everyone

I hope it's promising to be a good week.

If you're already starting to gaze out of the window and daydream about what you could be doing instead of sitting in the office, then, despite the cold weather, London LDWA has two treats in store this week which are guaranteed to warm you up.

First up is an opportunity to "fly" across the Thames this Wednesday, as an add-on to Paul's "Greenwich to Docklands" evening walk.   The main walk starts at 18.00 at North Greenwich tube station, but of you'd like to add in a trip in the Emirates cablecar across the Thames and back beforehand, then just turn up at the Costa coffee shop by the O2 at 16.30 and get ready for take-off.   All the details are below.

Then on Saturday, Peter is offering what promises to be a fascinating 20 mile "Merstham to Putney" walk.   Gather at Merstham station at 08:45 to join in and learn more.

While I’ve got your attention, I thought I'd just mention that, thanks to the enthusiasm of LDWA walks leaders, we've got an almost-full walks schedule for the Summer season (May-August, inclusive) and beyond.

You can take a look at the walks programme by clicking here

But there are still a few gaps, specifically for:

  • a midweek evening walk on or around Wednesday 26 August, and for;
  • a weekend day walk on Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 May.

If you'd like to volunteer to lead on one of those dates, please reply to this email to let me know.  And if you feel like looking further into the future, all the "free" dates to the end of the year are listed on the programme, so please let me know if you'd like to bag one of them.   We're always keen to encourage new leaders, so if you haven't led before but are an experienced walker and know how London LDWA group walks normally operate, please get in touch.

Once again, click here to look at the walks programme and decide if you'd like to help out.

Have a great week!

Adam
