NOTICES 

1) Call for volunteers for the 25th Founders’ event on 1st Oct 2022   this key event cannot happen without the fantastic volunteers that help each year.  Information for volunteers is available here https://bit.ly/3NvLjl5 there are lots of roles both in the different checkpoints and out on the course.  All the details are there.   Those of you who wish to volunteer please complete the form https://bit.ly/3NwmPZa and return it to Chris. 

2) New Members Welcome to the following new  primary members: Stephen Radley and Shahnaz Qizilbash, Belinda and Ruben Cortes Martin. We also welcome the following associate members: Robin Launder, Louise Romano,  Tim & Fiona Carrington, Sarah Weeks, Richard Brown and Jens Visser & Maria Sanchez.   Associate members please do share any walks you do in your local area either on the London group Facebook page or direct to me for our Out and About section of the newsletter. 

3) New Long Distance Path - The Peak Way created by a LDWA member Ken Reece is a  new 155 mile long-distance circular route starting in Stockport and predominantly through the Peak District.  More details are here: Peak Way Walk

5) New Blather Section  I am introducing this week a new section called "Stars of the Week", this is to celebrate London LDWA members who complete 50, 100 and Challenge Walks or multi day walks.  It however is not just focused on the uber walkers amongst us.  Hopefully we can celebrate acts of the acts of kindness and comradeship that occur on our walks too.  If you have photos that you think will be suitable please do send them in to me at the normal LDWA email.

Congratulations to Gavin Fuller, London Group chair on successful completion of The Woldsman 50 miler challenge, his first 50 mile challenge.  In addition congratulations to Ian Fairweather and Karen Walsh London group members who also completed the challenge.
