NOTICES
1) Message from national LDWA, the deadline has just passed but they are very interested in hearing from anyone who can fulfil this important role. :
LDWA General Secretary
Do you have a couple of hours a week to spare, are happy working with an enthusiastic team, are familiar with computers and using the internet and would like to play a part in shaping our Association for the future? As I write this we are still welcoming nominations and applications from current LDWA members for four posts on the National Executive Committee to take effect from March 2022.
In particular we are looking for someone who is organised with an eye for detail to volunteer for the role of General Secretary. You would need to be patient, but firm and experience in herding cats would be an advantage! You would be need to be comfortable working on a computer, as all of our meeting documentation is kept online. You would work closely with the Chair, but also all members of the National Executive Committee. You would also have a small team to help with the arrangements for the Annual General Meeting in March each year. If you would like to know more about this role please contact Madeleine Watson at secretary@ldwa.org.uk or Julie Cribb at Chair@ldwa.org.uk who will be pleased to answer any queries you may have.
Experience as an Officer at Local Group level would be an advantage but not essential. The detailed General Secretary Role Description is available to download from the LDWA Toolkit.
If you might be interested but cannot commit to four years serving on the NEC just now we would also consider an interim one-year appointment. As we are currently going through a review of the National Executive Committee a transitional period would be possible.
Expressions of interest or intention should be emailed to secretary@ldwa.org.uk as soon as possible and preferably before midnight on Sunday 31st October. However, please contact Madeleine if you only see this notice after that date but think you can help.
2) Happy Birthday to Gavin who rather bravely is heading off to a soggy Cumbria so I will not be short for photos for the "Out and About" section of the newsletter for a while. Have a great day!!

Sadly with the cancellation of Ron's walk last Saturday we have no recent walk photos. However, here are some photos of members from a number of local groups who met and walked to the Memorial Oak.

Out and About
Having just returned from a wild and wet Snowdonia it is nice not to have to worry for a photo for this section. This photo capturing a rainbow, looking from Glyder Fach across Llyn Bochlwyd and Llyn Ogwen. A tough walk with lots of scrambling, highlights included the Devil's Kitchen and Sinister Gully as well as favourites such as Glyder Fawr and the Cantilever stone.
