1)  A message from the Essex and Herts group.  They are running an "any time" challenge and their first real time challenge for 2 years.  Details below:

  • Blackwater Anytime Challenge – entries open till 31st December 2021

    A 26.5 Anytime Challenge event mainly on cross country public footpaths but also including sections of seawall around the Blackwater estuary and starting from Heybridge Basin Together with the 2022 Essex Walker and Herts Hobble this will form part of the Essex Triple Challenge.   • Sunday January 9th 2022 – The 20th Stansted Stagger

    We have devised another new route for the 20th running of the Stansted Stagger, heading eastwards to the historic market town of Thaxted, and then back to Stansted firstly following the infant River Chelmer to Tilty Abbey, and then via Easton Lodge and Broxted. Entries will be open from Monday 1st November SiEntries - 20th Stansted Stagger

Start: Hockley station 9:25 (8:33 from LIverpool Street) Finish: Southend Victoria station ( buy return to Southend Victoria)

A walk from the outskirts to the centre of London's playground.
Expect some mud but the last 3-4 miles are on tarmac along the prom

General Notes
 
Light refreshments on route packed lunch recommended. Stay for Fish and chips at the finish.
