Pennine Bridleway - Charlie's Loop

Derbyshire

29 km / 18 miles
A cyclists' side loop of the Pennine Bridleway which is also a bridleway, Charlie's Loop commemorates Charlie Craig, a gifted off-road cyclist aged 15 who "did not wake up" in January 2017.
This 17.5 mile loop was one that Charlie did regularly from his parents' home in Hayfield, Derbyshire. It makes use of Rushup Edge and Hollins Cross, after Edale ascending to join the Pennine Way. The last descent to Hayfield passes both Evie's Tree (Charlie's cousin, who died nine months before him) and Charlie's Cairn.
His family have set up Ride for Charlie (www.rideforcharlie.com), a non-profit company aimed at supporting young self-motivated off-road cyclists.

Note for the National Trails Register : this third Pennine Bridleway (PBW) loop will not be featured as an optional PBW extra unless and until it is included in the nationaltrail.co.uk website.
